ICCRC – Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council

ICCRC is Canada’s regulatory authority, designated by the government of Canada, to ensure consumers of immigration service retain the expertise of registered and regulated immigration consultants. ICCRC monitors the immigration profession by licensing professionals who have obtained the designation of Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCIC).

Canadian law requires that only authorized immigration representatives can represent clients for a fee:

– Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCIC) who are members in good standing with ICCRC

– Lawyers and paralegals who are members in good standing of a law society

– Notaries who are members in good standing of the Chambre des notaires du Québec

RCICs are to meet strict educational, ethical and professional requirements in order to be considered for membership by the ICCRC.  An educational component of the training is a certificate in immigration law, policy and practice.

To verify if an immigration consultant is registered, you can type the name of the person in the ICCRC registry by clicking here.
